17 May 2014 – Svendborg Market, Denmark

The Saturday market in Svendborg , Denmark is compact – but very busy. It’s time for the garden and lots of people are buying plants using a whole array of transportation to get their purchases home – large prams (with babies to share the ride), bicycles with panniers, baskets and attached carts, and the good old car. Apart from the plants, the market offers a great cheese van, two fish vans, one organic and one much larger fruit and veg stalls. Of course, it’s sunny and a bit of a holiday but everyone is wandering, shopping and chatting. Well, maybe more women are doing this – I see quite a few men waiting….but even they seem to be enjoying the sun and are smiling at acquaintances.
