The BBC has a great programme – Morocco to Timbuktu – presented by Alice Morrison. The first part shows some wonderful markets and it is well worth watching if you have access. The second part is this Thursday.
The EU-funded Glamur project has been looking at what distinguishes a global from a local food chain. You may be interested in the live streaming of the GLAMUR event from the Milan EXPO “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” on TUESDAY 13 OCTOBER from 11.30 – 13.30. You can access the programme and the details here. It is a sell-out event and will be worth listening to.
I just visited the vanabbemuseum Museum in Eindhoven http://vanabbemuseum.nl/en/, The Netherlands and saw another fantastic installation by artist Dan Perjovschi http://www.perjovschi.ro/ – (see also this blog 10 December 2013). I was particularly struck by his comment on ‘global’ and ‘local’ – I can see the application for food systems! Thanks Dan.
